Transportation

Fly to PUERO PLATA (POP) which is only 25 minutes away by taxi from your condo or SANTIAGO (STI) which is 90 minutes away.

Then, we will pick you up in STI or POP airport with our private taxi, so you have nothing to worry about on arrival. Our chauffeur can also stop at a supermarket to do grocery shopping on arrival.

Riding Conditions

Safety: The entire bay is deep enough for foiling: only shallow reefs can be found at the two extreme sides (west and east side of the bay), so you have the entire bay (approx 2 km) to enjoy and ride.

Also, no creatures to ruin your vacations like sea urchins, jellyfish, stingrays, sharks etc. You can ride in peace without being bitten or stung by something.

As a bonus, our North exposure prevents any sargassum from getting in the bay. The current generated by wind swell keeps them far offshore, a very privileged situation these days in the Caribbean.

Dream Conditions for All Levels

Beginners: On the east side of the bay, you’ll find pristine flat conditions, perfect to get started and get acquainted with the amazing sport of foiling above the water.

Progression: Before you decide to hit the reef, the entire bay offers hyper safe, non-breaking swell, which is perfect to learn how to engage the foil or work on your pumping technique. Inside the bay you will be able to do 10-20 sec ride on this gentle swell.

Intermediate and Advanced: Advanced riders usually go out to the outside reef to catch solid incoming swell (5 to 7 feet) and get their adrenaline fix. When you reach the breaking sections, you can finally connect inside the bay. If your legs are not too tired, you can continue riding on the inside swell. The setup is so perfect that you will easily foil ride for 60 seconds or more.

2. Summer-Fall season:

From August to November, tropical depressions in the Atlantic follow each other weekly, creating 3 to 6 foot amazing swells. In the morning the conditions are usually totally windless and glassy until the thermals kick in around 10-11am.

3. Winter Season:

From December to April: Winter Atlantic swells kick in and cold fronts guarantee weekly swells which average 5-6 feet most of the winter (and can reach 10-12 feet 4 to 5 times during this period)
